Madsy Richards was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She has played volleyball for 15 years and has competed at various levels ranging from Club Volleyball, High School, Junior College, and NCAA Division II. Madsy grew up in a competitive family as she has three sisters who have all competed at the collegiate volleyball level. At Kirkwood Community College, Madsy was an outside hitter. She helped the Kirkwood Eagles get to the national tournament placing 7th back to back years in 2015 and 2016. She had many successes at Kirkwood Community College including NJCAA First Team All-American. After playing two years at the Junior College level, Madsy transferred to the University of Missouri – St. Louis where she continued her volleyball career as a defensive specialist. After the conclusion of her senior season, Madsy will graduate with a Degree in Supply Chain Management and a minor in Transportation Studies. Madsy will be moving to Seattle in January as she recently accepted a full-time job!
Madsy has previously coached club volleyball for two seasons at both the 14u and 15u age level. Madsy is a fun and energetic coach who loves to see her players understand volleyball mechanics and learn new skills. She also loves strategy and improving volleyball IQ. Madsy enjoys coaching because she wants to share her love of the game with young athletes who are eager to learn and compete.
Madsy is eager to be living in a new city in the Pacific Northwest. Outside of volleyball, some of Madsy's hobbies include hiking, kayaking, attending concerts, and going to coffee shops.
