Tiara played four years of club volleyball at SVVC Fusion. At the end of her first year on Fusion, her coach named her “Rookie of the Year”. She played one season as a middle and three seasons as a right side. She was captain her senior year. For her U17 & U18 seasons her team was consistently in the top flights of Power League. One of her favorite memories was her team placing 1st at The Emerald City Classic during her U18 season.
Tiara was recruited to play D3 volleyball at Linfield College in Oregon. She was a starter for two years as a middle blocker. Due to injury and graduating early from college, she retired from her volleyball career. She is grateful to all her mentors and the wonderful friends she was able to meet over the years through volleyball.
Tiara is a recent Linfield College graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She spent a semester studying early childhood education in Oslo, Norway. She currently works full time as a social worker in Everett, WA.
Coaching Philosophy:
My goal is to help girls develop on and off the court. I believe being a good teammate is just as important as being a good player. Both will equally determine the success of one’s volleyball career. I believe every player deserves a chance to prove herself. Open communication, consistency, hard-work, athletic ability, desire to win, and mental toughness are the recipe for a strong team. Every player should be well rounded and have their technique rooted in the fundamentals.
